Heiko Rieder, Director Business Development at Hirmer Hospitality

Heiko is a strategic leader with more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry. In April 2022, he embarked on a new challenge at Hirmer Hospitality, where he leads all commercial teams as Director of Business Development. In previous roles, Heiko was able to independently build and manage structures in commercial teams, which have achieved impressive results through close collaboration. 


Heiko strongly believes that hospitality is an industry of people for people, where employees who are passionate about what they do perform at their best, which translates into helping guests and customers feel more comfortable. In order to give team members the opportunity to develop and take on more interesting responsibilities, Heiko believes automation through robots should be encouraged to reduce the amount of mundane, repetitive tasks.

Rajesh has been in the hotel industry for over 30 years. He is an owner-operator of a 4-star hotel group based in the South-East. Sarova Hotels has 4 properties and an overall estate of 600 bedrooms and 2 health clubs, with its head office based at The Rembrandt Hotel in Knightsbridge. Day-to-day he heads up the commercial departments of the company.


Rajesh has been active in many industry organizations over the years. In BEAM (formally HBAA) he held several roles culminating in being the chair for the Hotels and Venues side of the association. He has had 8 years on the Board and is a Past President of HEDNA (Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association). He was also a member of the SCA Hotel and Travel Special Interest Group working with the UK Finance PMO on the Hospitality SCA implementation plan and was part of HFTP’s GDPR/DPO Task Force.

Sascha Dalig is acting as Regional Director Central Europe for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. He oversees a diverse region with around 120 Hotels and several hotel projects.

With a classical apprenticeship, his career brought him from hotel operative functions up to strategic management in global hotel chains. He is a trained trainer and Bachelor Professional of Business.

His focus is on Partner- and Franchise Management, working on day-to-day challenges with his hotels, and being driven by the lookout for positive and sustainable change.

Mario Candeias is the General Manager of the iconic Espinas Palace Hotel, located in the vibrant metropolis of Tehran, Iran, and Managing Director of Espinas Hotel Group. He boasts extensive experience in the hospitality and tourism sectors and, for nearly 30 years, has managed hotels across an array of globally-acclaimed hotel groups, including Leading Hotels of the World affiliated groups, Tivoli and Pestana.

João Pinto Coelho, Sales Director at Onyria Hotels & Resorts Group

João Pinto Coelho boasts a long history as Director of Sales & Commercial at the Onyria Hotels & Resorts Group, a chain with properties and golf courses across Portugal's top tourism hotspots, including Cascais, metropolitan Lisbon, and the Algarve. Appointed as the Group's Director of Sales in 2004, he has contributed to a wide range of key projects for the group, including the opening of Onyria Palmares Beach House Hotel in the Algarve in 2016, and a large-scale renovation project during the first lockdown of 2020 for the Hotel Quinta de Marinha Golf Resort in his native Cascais.

Steffi Breitsprecher started her career working for a tour operator specialized in groups business before she joined MEININGER Hotels overlooking the revenue and distribution for six hotels, initially. Within 14 years Steffi has built an international team that has been instrumental in supporting the growth across the MEININGER hotel group planning to operate a total of 33 hotels by the end of 2021 with new openings in Austria, France and Switzerland.

As Director of Revenue & Distribution Steffi is responsible for the hotel group’s selling strategy across 10 markets constantly optimizing profits and efficiency. Steffi is also member of the Revenue Management & Pricing advisory board at HSMA Germany e.V.


Gavin Eccles, Aviation expert, and Management Consultant & Professor (Aviation and Tourism)

Gavin Eccles

Gavin Eccles has worked across the world to link Aviation and Tourism development and has been associated with airlines, hotels, airports, and tour operators. Previous roles included development in British Airways and consultancy projects for United Airlines, American Airlines, Qantas, and supporting the development of low-cost carriers to tourist destinations. In Portugal, Gavin has been the advisor to the Board of Visit Portugal on aviation development and working on numerous projects with ANA Airports Portugal on opening international air routes to the country. With hotels, Gavin has worked with numerous chains and has had secondment positions at TUI. Gavin has been awarded a Master of Philosophy from the University of Surrey and an Honours Degree in Management from Sheffield Hallam University.

Daniela Hupfeld is Commercial Director at Pierre & Vacances for Spain, leading the sales department and building the new revenue management team. Daniela is directly responsible for the revenue management itself as well as for managing sales, reservations, online marketing and communication. Daniela has extensive experience in yield management, having held positions in companies such as Thomas Cook Hotels & Resorts, Europcar, NH Hotels and Radisson Hotels.

With more than 23 years of experience in luxury hospitality sales, Kyp Charalambous joined Atlantis, The Palm post resort opening in 2009 as Director of Sales. After eight years of delivering outstanding commercial results, Charalambous was promoted to Vice President of Sales in 2017.

The appointment places Charalambous, at the helm of the Sales department of Dubai’s leading entertainment resort, where he leads an engaged team of Sales Managers and Directors to drive the overall sales strategy for the resort, Charalambous role sees him playing a significant role in maximizing room revenue, occupancy and market share for Atlantis, The Palm as well as having responsibility for continuing to grow the resort’s share in all feeder markets and ensuring the resort's presence throughout existing and developing regions. Also, Charalambous plays an integral role in increasing business for the resort’s Imperial Club and Suites offering whilst continuing to deliver innovative and integrated campaigns across Sales, Marketing, and PR.

Prior to joining Atlantis, The Palm Charalambous worked across all major market segments in luxury hotels including the InterContinental Hotel Group and Hyatt.
